HIKING

Fantastic hiking is found along Eels Creek (parking is located where Eel's Creek crosses Rd. 56) and Petroglyph Provincial Park. Rushing water, pine forests, rock, native rock carvings, emerald lakes and an abundance of wildlife make this area at the north-east corner of Stoney Lake a mecca for nature lovers. You can easily spend a day in this area and a few tent sites are available on the Eels Creek Trail.

Further south the unique limestone topography of the Warsaw Caves area is a good hiking area for an afternoon and camping is available. Check with your accommodations and they can recommend less travelled trails on Crown land. Don't ignore the seasonal roads in the region that will take you through woodlots and pastures.
