CANOEING/KAYAKING

You're in the heart of Canoe Country on Stoney. Here the first commercial recreation canoes were designed, built and shipped around the world. Today the heritage of the canoe is celebrated at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough but modern canoes and kayaks still ply the waters of the Kawarthas. For touring, Stoney is incomparable. With over 1000 islands exploration opportunities abound.

If fast water appeals to you, Eels Creek is the perfect destination with High Falls providing a magnificent backdrop for lunch. Canoes and kayaks are available to rent in a variety of locations and are often provided free if you are staying at a resort on the lake.
